Managed IP VPN - Key Benefits
Global availability
Our service covers the whole of the UK, with presence in over 100 cities all around the world. Connection can be via DSL, Leased Line and Ethernet at speeds up to 1Gbps.
We have staff located in many key destinations that our customers require installation and service support resource, which means your business will get the service quality and help it needs to get connected and stay connected. What’s more we are highly experienced in dealing with all the regulatory matters that rolling out a Global service requires.
Quality of Service
Class of Services (CoS) enables the prioritisation of network traffic - for example Voice or Video over IP versus low priority traffic such as internet browsing. Traffic can also be prioritised based upon its source or destination. The basis and location of the CoS is totally at the discretion of you, the customer and you can adjust the CoS criteria at any time.
Fully managed service
Ownership of fault handling, CoS and all support functions is handled by Telstra using fully-managed Cisco routers. With Telstra managing your network services, you benefit from the experience and expertise of our specialist security engineers, who monitor your network 24/7 in support of rigorous Service Level Agreements. Fully managed end-point hardware is deployed and with our Service Tools system, we are providing world class service package. In addition, faulty hardware is replaced on a Next Business Day/Same Day basis, and a ‘Cold-Standby’ router can be provided for mission-critical sites.
Network management and reporting
Telstra's unique management portal, Service Tools, provides sophisticated, detailed reporting on your Telstra IP VPN services. Service Tools allows you to create and manage support tickets, view your network graphically and even 'drill down' to examine your network traffic in detail per application, network link or route, and IP address.
As standard, Service Tools will alert you of a fault and also alert our European Customer Support Centre – on a 24/7 basis. This means we are working on a fault, anywhere in the world, as soon as we know it has happened.
Resilience
Managed IP VPN enables large networks to be consolidated by providing an access circuit at each site to a central private network 'cloud', increasing the speed of delivery of all services.
Resilience is enhanced as branch offices no longer depend upon the head office for connectivity to other sites. The “cloud” takes control of re-routing or standby paths all automatically and within the guidelines set by your needs, with Telstra overseeing the performance.
Flexibility
Telstra combines scalable and feature-rich technology with a highly flexible range of access types, so customers can more easily match their network requirements to their budget constraints. There are no limitations on how we can connect or support your network needs – which we expect to change and evolve along with your business needs.
As IP VPN delivers the mechanisms to provide Quality of Service across a shared backbone network, it is also possible to support realtime applications such as VoIP or Video, at a lower cost than when using traditional networks, where resources are allocated by customer or application.
